Mark Alan Leslie has been a writer and editor since 1971, concentrating on Christian themes since forming The Leslies - Media Consultants in June 2000. Besides his first published novel, Midnight Rider for the Morning Star, Leslie has written as-yet unpublished works, including the devotional Walks with God, the self-help manuscript Fired? Before starting his media-relations firm, Leslie worked 11 years as managing editor and then editor of Golf Course News, a trade publication for the golf industry in the United States, and Golf Course News International, which covers the industry worldwide.
A 1971 graduate of the University of Maine-Orono with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism, he was a writer for the Central Maine Morning Sentinel from 1971-73,
   

news director for Colby College from 1973-76; city editor of the Lewiston (Maine) Sun from 1976-86; and wire editor/night editor for the Portland (Maine) Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram from 1986-88.

In 1996, he was cited for Outstanding Journalistic Achievement by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, and he has won two national writing awards.
A Maine native, he has spoken at regional events and national conferences on golf and the media. Born again and Holy Spirit-filled in 1983, he is ordained to preach by the World Bible Way Fellowship and has taught journalism in an adult education program.
